Read the following outline to get to the heart of the Good News from a biblical perspective as Christ said:

“If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.” (John 7:37)

So then, come and receive from Jesus, the only one who gives living water, and never thirst again!

I. God

Creator

  • (Genesis 1:1) “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

Loving

  • (1 John 4:16) “God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.”

Holy

  • (1 John 1:5) “that God is light and in him is no darkness at all.” Habakkuk 1:13 “Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?”

II. Man

Created for relationship with God

  • (Genesis 1:27) “God created man in His own image.”

All have sinned, relationship with God broken

  • (Romans 3:23) “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God”

Sin deserves death

  • (Romans 6:23) “23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

III. Christ

Fully God

  • (John 1:1) “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

Fully human

  • (John 1:14) “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.”

Christ’s Work

A substitutionary sinless life and sacrifice, atoning death, and bodily resurrection

  • (Matthew 20:28) “Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”

  • (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”

The Significance

The ONLY way to God is by Jesus Christ

  • (John 14:6) "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

  • (1 Peter 3:18) “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.”

IV. Response

Grace: Salvation by grace through faith

  • (Ephesians 2:8-9) “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

  • (Acts 16:31) “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

Repent from sin

  • (Acts 17:30) “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:”

Acknowledge by faith that Christ died in your place

  • (Romans 5:8) “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Call on the name of the Lord

  • (Romans 10:13) “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Eternal life

  • (John 3:16) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
