City Gospel Mission

City Gospel Mission

"Breaking the cycle of urban despair. One life at a time."

The City Gospel Mission is a ministry that has been serving the poor, needy, hurting and homeless in the Over-The-Rhine area of Cincinnati since 1942. Over The Rhine is a neighborhood besieged by poverty, unemployment, crime, and violence. Some people come to the mission simply to get something to eat, need clothing, or to sleep somewhere other than on the street or under a bridge. Many loving and caring people that volunteer to serve within different ministries at the mission help to supply those needs.

However, the greatest need that anyone could ever have.the need to have Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior .is also offered as a free gift (Ro 6:23) to all that attend the mission. You see, in order to have any of their physical needs met it is necessary to first attend a chapel service. There, the people at Immanuel Baptist Church have been able to share the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ the fourth Friday of every month for nearly 30 years. We have had the privilege of leading many lost souls to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ throughout our time spent in Cincinnati and consider it to be a blessing that can only be understood by those who attend.
