Immanuel Bus Ministry |

My name is Lois and I am privileged to be a part of the "Bus Ministry" of Immanuel Baptist Church . God has sent me to help Kevin and Sarah, two young folks whose love for the Lord shows in their ministry to the children that we work with each week. It is rare these days to see young folks coming to church regularly and offering their help wherever it is needed, as these two do. Kevin and Sarah have a gift of reaching out in God's love to anyone, especially children, and drawing them to Christ. In Matthew 19:13 there were folks who brought little children to Jesus to be prayed for, and the disciples rebuked those who brought them. Jesus replied in verse 14, "Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." The first Sunday that I drove the van to pick up folks for church, I was apprehensive; I really didn't know what to expect. As soon as we turned down the first street, the children saw the church van, and they began running up and down the street, knocking on doors, to tell everyone to get ready to go to church. They were excited!! In Matthew 18:3, Jesus said, "Verily, I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Perhaps if we "Christians" showed more enthusiasm about going to the House of God, and about what God does for us on a daily basis, more folks would want to know this Jesus we profess. Our goal is to reach out to lost souls and lead them to Christ. Some may think it's a waste of time and that we shouldn't be concerned with the children. But Jesus saw in the heart of a child what many adults have lost-a willingness to listen and to learn. If just one of these children grows up to love the Lord and dedicates his/her life to the service of God, it will be worth it all. But who knows how many soldiers of Christ we are training every Sunday? Our goal is to reach them all!!
